Streamlining Your Morning: How Epic One's Briefing Enhances Productivity

A steaming coffee mug beside a laptop on a dark walnut desk, a printed traveler and brass pen next to it, with a CNC machine out of focus behind in warm brass light.

You get in at 6:45, coffee in hand, and the first twenty minutes disappear. What came in overnight? What's the news that affects your customers? Is anything on fire? By the time you've caught up, the day's already moving. Epic One's morning brief is built for that stretch. It lands in your chat before you start asking, so the catch-up is done when you sit down.

Set it once, then forget about it

The morning brief lives under Settings, then Notifications. You turn it on or off, choose the delivery time, and set your time zone. You also pick where it goes: your chat, or your chat plus a text message. While it's on, it shows up in your chat every morning. If you don't have a chat open, it starts a new one. On a quiet day you still get a one-line note, so you know it ran and there's just nothing to report.

Want a copy in your inbox? Tick "Also email it to me" and you get the same brief by email, with clickable links. And if you miss it or want it again at 2 p.m., just ask Epic One "what's my brief?" Anytime.

The industry briefing: the stories that matter to you

If your plan includes the Marketing or Amplify licence, the brief can lead with news from your own Media Sources (Settings, then Connections). Tick "What's important to my industry" and you get 3 to 5 stories you need to know today. Each one says what happened, why it matters to you, and what to do about it, with a link to every site that covered it. A few quick hits round out the list. Epic One skims every headline for free and reads only the handful that matter to you, and full articles are never stored.

Tick "Trends" and the brief also tells you what's rising, emerging, spreading or fading, with real counts from your feeds. Trends need history, so they start after about two weeks. After that, Mondays add a weekly roll-up and a check on how earlier trend calls turned out.

Teach it what matters, in a click or in chat

A brief is only useful if it learns your priorities. Every item carries four buttons: Important, Not relevant, More like this, and Less like this. They work from the chat and from the email. You can also just tell Epic One in plain words. "My clients are HVAC and roofing companies." "Less about Meta ads." "That story about the core update was important." Or fill in My industry, What matters to me, and More about / Less about in Settings. All of it goes into your own knowledge, so Epic One uses it in everything it does for you, not only the brief. "What you've taught me" shows the list, lets you undo any entry with the ✕, and Reset clears it.

Before you commit to a delivery time, use "Preview today's briefing" to see one straight away. You can also ask in chat: "show me today's industry news" or "what do you think matters to me?"

Try it on your own morning

Pick a delivery time that beats your first coffee, preview today's briefing, and tap Important or Not relevant on the first few items. If Epic One isn't set up for your shop yet, the Get Epic One page at /onboard is the place to start. The full Settings walkthrough is in the Epic One User Guide at /user-guide.
